Our People

MyungKeun(MK) Lee

Representative, attorney. A Member of Korean Bar

MK Lee began his practice as attorney at law in South Korea in 2003. MK joined Suh and Co in 2005, where he spent 8 years, developing his expertise in maritime law. MK Lee has dealt with a wide range of maritime cases, including some high profile cases, and advised on issues arising out of charterparties, insurance/reinsurance, carriage of goods by sea and admiralty.

Whilst in Suh & Co, he acted for a number of owners, charterers, cargo interests and their insurers, advising client not only on the legal issues but also on practical considerations to resolve the disputes.

MK received B.A. in Economics at Seoul National University in 1995 and studied at the Judicial Research and Training Institute, Supreme Court of Korea in 2003. He also completed LL.M in Maritime Law at University of Southampton in 2010.

Kilho(KH) Kim

Partner, A Member of Korean Bar

KH Kim received B.A. in law at Korea University in 2004 and studied at the Judicial Research and Training Institute, Supreme Court of Korea in 2004.

In 2006, KH began his practice at Suh & Co, where he advised clients on issues relating to admiralty, charterparties and carriage of goods by sea. After 3 years’ practice at Suh and Co, KH moved to Kim Chang & Lee where he specialized in project finance such as ship finance, fund, M&A and cross-border investment and other various corporate matters.

Michael Cho

Consultant, Solicitor of the Senior Courts in England and Wales

Michael Cho is a foreign legal consultant at Cho Kim & Lee. Having successfully completed his training seats in Drummonds Kirkwood LLP, Michael was admitted as solicitor of England and Wales in 2009.

During his practice in England, Michael conducted a number of civil cases in English Courts and international arbitrations, acting for & against companies. Michael has expertise in contentious matters relating to contracts (Common law of contract) and international trade, based upon which he expanded his practice into marine insurance and shipping law. He joined Cho Kim & Lee in 2013 and has dealt with various dry and wet cases.

Michael is fluent both in English and Korean. He completed LL.M in Maritime Law at University of Southampton in 2010.

KD PARK

Paralegal

KD received B.A. in law at Korea Maritime and Ocean University in 2009. Before he joined Cho Kim & Lee, he worked as a legal staff or paralegal and assisted fee earners in all types of maritime cases. His knowledge and skills together with his ability to work independently or as part of a team is a valuable asset of Cho, Kim and Lee.
